The impact of minority communities on dance music

Inspired by my research into the history of dance music, this project focuses on the immense impact that minority communities such as the black community and the LGBTQ+ community has had on the dance genre. I aim to explore the roots of dance music and challenge the lack of diversity in modern EDM, including in genres such as drum and bass which seems to lack diversity in terms of popular artists in the genre.
